2. How to work:
The functions through the photocatalysis tube which send out the carbon dioxide (CO2) resembling the human Being's smelling to attract mosquitoes flying in, then dry and dehydrate them.
What makes a mosquito from other flying insects is their long mouthpart that is called a proboscus. Only the female mosquito bites. Female mosquitoes need blood to nourish their eggs. They get that blood from you, your family and your pets. Mosquitoes find their targets based on warmth, moisture and carbon dioxide (CO2).
When people and animals breathe, they exhale an invisible mixture of carbon dioxide (CO2). Mosquitoes have ultra-sensitive receptors which can detect the presence of these chemicals. They follow your scent (CO2) upwind, and can trace you from almost 100 feet away.
"Any type of carbon dioxide is attractive, even over a long distance."
The GreenLife GR-01 Mosquito Trap lures and traps mosquitoes and other biting insects by a combination of: Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Heat (simulate body temperature 35°C- 40°C), UV Light (350nm-370nm)
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is produced from photocatalytic reaction. When UV lamp hits photocatalyst, the electron in TiO2 will react and combine with O2- and OH- respectively and eventually turns into CO2 and H2O. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is completely harmless, but irresistible to mosquitoes, they will follow the scent. Once the mosquitoes get nearer, the fan will pull the mosquitoes into the net where they will dehydrate and die.

Yes. Our product can catch many other types of biting insect.
Q9. Why isn’t my Mosquito Trap killing mosquitoes?
The location of your trap is absolutely critical. Most mosquito species avoid direct sunlight and wind. So, make sure that your trap is placed somewhere shaded and sheltered. Mosquitoes love water too, so please check out for any damp wetland areas on your property. You may need to experiment with different locations to determine the most successful placement for your trap. But don’t put the mosquito trap too close to where you spend most of your time – 5-10 meters away is the recommended distance.
Q10. I’ve had the Mosquito Trap running a week now but I’m still seeing many mosquitoes buzzing around. What's happened?
The Mosquito Trap will begin to catch mosquitoes immediately, but generally speaking, it may take as much as 5-8 weeks of use to reduce local populations to the point that breeding cycles are interrupted. It typically takes that amount of time to kill enough female mosquitoes to make a population collapse. A female mosquito can lay up to 200-300 eggs at a time and repeat this cycle 8-10 times in her lifetime.
